Danum Valley, the fourth largest town of Malaysia, comprises of 43,800 hectares of virgin forests and is located about 70 kilometers west of Lahad Datu. Housing Sabah’s most unique flora and fauna, the valley is a cosmic reserve of lush lowland tropical forests. It has been recognized as one of the most complex ecosystems of the world.



The Danum Valley offers its tourists an exotic experience of witnessing the ancient tropical forests in the wilds. Its hot and humid forests are complemented with a wide array of striking orchids, lingering lianas, overhanging epiphytes, and towering tropical trees. The valley is by and large hilly and not mountainous. Its highest peak, Mount Danum, is 1093 meters high. Very few places on earth can provide tourists with such a pristine and awe-inspiring manifestation of nature in its most original and pure state.
